OBSERVATION FROM THE FIELD 001

THE MISSING PIECE

A Realization About Participation, Coherence, and the Next Horizon

June 2026

For many years I assumed that if enough people were exposed to coherent ideas, coherence would naturally emerge. The internet seemed to promise exactly that—unlimited information, unlimited learning, and unlimited connection. Yet something unexpected happened. Information increased, but so did fragmentation.

Over time I began to realize that understanding alone does not create coherence. A person can read the books, watch the videos, study the concepts, and still remain largely alone. This realization has become increasingly clear as I completed The Sovereign Within, Coherence, and Choice Point. The books address the individual, relationship, and civilization, yet another question remained: How does coherence become transmissible?

Recently I found myself reviewing ideas found in James Mahu’s - Coherence Across Scales initiative. Here he discusses participation, relational intelligence. This renewed my ideas for ‘“Communities of Sovereign Integrals” (COSIs), and “Sovereign Integral Learning Centers” (SILCs). What struck me was not the differences but the convergence. Again and again the same realization appeared: coherence ultimately requires participation.

Perhaps coherent civilization cannot emerge through information alone. Perhaps it requires intentional spaces where sovereignty is honored, relationship is cultivated, and coherence becomes lived rather than merely discussed. One observation seems increasingly clear: the agreement does not need to be ideological. It may be much simpler. We build with coherent materials—patience, humility, compassion, kindness, forgiveness, and love.

The books are nearly complete. The website is nearly complete. The videos are underway. Yet a new horizon has appeared. What if these were never the destination? What if they were the bridge? Perhaps participation has been the missing piece all along.
